New Volunteer Opportunities

What's Your Interest?
If you can spare a few hours each week on a regular basis, or are available if called upon to open shelters, or have even more time available to help our community, we can use your help and experience! We provide orientation and training, and with experience gained in Red Cross service, offer leadership opportunities within our volunteer cadre. We need more neighbors helping neighbors!

{Note: These opportunities do not reflect all of our volunteer needs. However, these are the most critical.}

**Disaster Services: Volunteers needed to help the Red Cross & our community prepare for disaster.

**Disaster Action Team: Volunteers needed to respond to local and national disasters.

***Health and Safety: Volunteers Instructors needed to teach community classes (training required) in CPR, First Aid, water safety, and other safety presentations. Also need, clerical and data entry, volunteers to set up, schedule, and coordinate health and safety courses.

Community Service: Speakers: Volunteer speakers needed to do presentations within the community. Disaster Clerical: Volunteers needed to assemble class packets, brochures, data entry, etc. & to support local community preparedness events when necessary.

Support Services: Clerical: (all departments) Volunteers needed to assist with bulk mailing, filing, inventory, answering phones, computer data entry, etc.

Fundraising (Direct Mail Campaigns): Volunteers assist with mail campaigns, donor record keeping, acknowledgements, and fundraising events…

Volunteer office: Volunteers assist with writing volunteer job descriptions, setting up volunteer orientation courses, conduct volunteer screening interviews, help with volunteer placement, record keeping, and recognition. Volunteers needed to help with routine maintenance duties, stocking supplies and inventory.

Public Affairs: Volunteers in this position will make copies, file, clip newspaper articles, and perform other clerical duties. Volunteers assist Director with various special events, and public relations tasks.

Public Support Ambassadors (PSA): as a public support ambassador, you are a vital link between the American Red Cross and the community. The PSA program has a speaker’s bureau and a community event group.

Youth Volunteers/Programs: Students are encouraged to volunteer answering phones, doing office work, help with mailings, preparing materials for classes and computer data entry.

**REQUIRES APPROVAL FOR FORMAL TRAINING & MUST MEET AVAILABILITY TERMS.

(ALL DISASTER SERVICE TRAINING IS FREE.)
