When A Disaster Strikes...
When a disaster strikes, it creates a situation in which the day-to-day activities of people's lives are suddenly disrupted. The Congressional Charter of the American Red Cross tasks the organization the responsibility to render assistance to disaster victims.
The Disaster Action Team (DAT) is organized to place trained volunteers at the scene of a disaster to provide the immediate emergency assistance to disaster victims. The DAT responds to Single-Family Fires and other disasters as needed. Red Cross Disaster Training is for you if:
- You are an individual that wants to know how to help your community in an emergency
- You have a defined duty to act in an emergency
- You have a few hours a month to spare
- You like helping others
- You would like to become a Red Cross Volunteer in Disaster Services
- All Disaster Services Training is FREE.
